For women photographers around the world, the IWPA is open to submissions from all fields of photography. A jury composed of a number of upcoming international photographers will name one photographer a laureate as well as picking four runners up and special mentions. Open to amateurs or professionals, the competition requires no entry fee.

Centered around the theme of "Diversity" for its twelfth season, the HIPA International Photography Award is open to submissions. This season will consist of four main categories: Diversity, Portfolio (Story-Telling), Digital Art and General (Color and Black & White). HIPA encourages photographers to submit one piece of work for each category. The competition, for which there is no entry fee, is open to emerging photographers.

On its 10th year, the Monochrome Awards invites you to enter your black and white photographs to their competition. With over a dozen categories that photographers can pick from, they offer options for everyone. Open to both amateurs and professionals alike, the winner will not only be rewarded financially, but also through opportunities to further one's career. The entry fee is $17 for amateurs and $22 for professionals.

The Portrait and Shape Exhibition is on at the Glasgow Gallery of Photography until 30th June. They also have an open call for entries for 2 October exhibitions under the titles Blue and Abandoned. Emerging or professional photographers may submit up to 8 images. Submissions are free and if your work is selected there is a participation fee of £48.00. Deadline: 23 June 2023
